Why We Built It
We built WordUnscrambler.win after losing one too many games of Words With Friends and Scrabble.
Most word unscrambler tools could dump out a list of words, but they were not very good at helping with the real decision. They felt clunky, weak on filtering, and even worse when the board position mattered.
The breaking point was having to calculate promising lanes by hand. That is slow, annoying, and not how serious players want to spend a turn. So we built the tool we actually wanted to use.
Two Modes, Two Jobs
Unscrambler is our fast Word Unscrambler mode. Enter your rack, add up to two blanks, and narrow the results with starts, ends, contains, exclude, and length filters when you are hunting for a specific play.
Board Solver takes the next step. Enter the board and your rack, and it searches legal placements, checks cross constraints, and ranks strong scoring moves so you do not have to trace every bonus square yourself.
Built for Competitive Players
This site is designed for players who care about speed, clean inputs, and practical results. The default dictionary is TWL06 for the North American Scrabble crowd, and SOWPODS is there when you want broader international coverage.
The goal is simple: make rack solving fast, make board solving usable, and remove as much manual calculation as possible when the game gets sharp.
